Evaluation of individual education effect on anxiety in elderly candidates for open-heart surgery

Background: The presence of pain and anxiety in a patient affects the results and, therefore, process healing, as well postoperative complications. Therefore, this study was performed to gauge effect individual education-supported needs assessment on among elderly patients who were candidates for open-heart surgery.Method: This quasi-experimental carried out Iran 2019. Sixty-one patients, surgery aged 60 years or older, divided into two groups: experiment control. within control group received routine care, with intervention addition care. State-Trait Anxiety Inventory used assess patients’ levels. All analysis SPSS v19 significance level 0.05.Results: demographic variables similar both groups (p <0.05). mean scores state trait decreased significantly after before (p>0.05).Conclusion: Individual education based is an effective strategy reducing their surgery.
